Hawaya Backing AHDRA Pro Fuel and Nitro Funnybike

AHDRA Pro Fuel

Hawaya Backing AHDRA Pro Fuel and Nitro Funnybike

AHDRA Pro Fuel racers will have some extra financial security this year (Tim Hailey reports), and Nitro Funnybike racers will have a class sponsor - all courtesy of Johnny Vickers and Hawaya Racing.
Pro Fuel (formerly called Pro Dragster) racers will know before their trailers hit the road that they will be racing for a guaranteed purse, regardless of how many competitors show up in the class.

"Something that I'm pretty adamant about, because I've raced all my life too, is to see that the Pro Fuel racers know what to expect," said Vickers. "Hey, there might be only two here, only four there, but it costs the racers just as much money, just as much time off, and they are going to have just as much stuff break as if there's eight or twelve bikes.
"The racers that show up have done their part, and I'm gonna do my part to see that they're rewarded. So, if two bikes show up, one of them's gonna be the winner, and they're gonna get the full $1,200 winner's purse."
Runner-up is guaranteed $600, with $300 for semi-finalists and $200 for quarter-finalists, based on five or more entries.

"When Bill Rowe announced he was buying AHDRA, I said 'Well, put Hawaya on the carburetor class.' So that was a fast deal and a done deal and boom, we're off and running.
"It makes sense for us to go back now and offer more support for the AHDRA. We're trying to help grow the sport and help the racers as well."
That help will also extend to Nitro Funnybike, formerly called Pro Fuel. Vickers and Rowe both feel that until class participation develops, Nitro Funnybike is better off run with a purse scaled to the number of entries. But having a major sponsor like Hawaya shows that both are committed to building the class to a solid future.
The AHDRA all-American motorcycle drag racing series kicks off its second season under the stewardship of Rowe on April 17-18 at Atlanta Dragway, followed by May 22-23 at Cecil County Dragway, June 4-6 at Rockingham Dragway, June 19-20 at National Trail Raceway, August 8-10 at Sturgis, September 17-18 at South Carolina Motorsports Park (eighth mile), October 1-3 at Summit Motorsports Park (Norwalk), and November 6-7 at Gainesville Raceway, with a regional event April 30-May 1 at Darlington Dragway.

Classes are Top Fuel, Hawaya Racing Nitro Funnybike, Hawaya Racing Pro Fuel, GMS Racing Pro Open, Zipper's Performance Pro Modified, Modified, Law Tigers Pro Bagger, Horsepower Inc. Hot Street, Outlaw Street, 9.30 index, Vreeland's Harley-Davidson 9.90, 10:30 index, Universal Fleet & Tire 10.90, 11.50 index, T-Man Performance Bagger Eliminator, Mad Monkey Motorsports Eliminator, and Trophy.

Mash Motorcycles 2021 kick-off!

Mash Motorcycles 2021 kick-off!

'Dakota Hunter 'Hans Wiesman has passed away.

'Dakota Hunter 'Hans Wiesman has passed away.

This sad news just reached us. Hans was a well known Harley-Davidson rider, and famous author. His love for the DC Dakota airplanes took him all over the world. His nickname was The Dakota Hunter.

We went on many trips, had good times and Hans his knowledge about Dakota's, WWII and D-Day was unbelievable. We went to Normandy, France for many D-Day Memorials and I had the honor to do a lot of photography for the books Hans wrote. Hans died in his sleep Sunday night.

Hans, we will miss you. Fly High Forever.

HOT NEW PRODUCT FROM CORBIN SADDLES FOR THE R 18 BMW

HOT NEW PRODUCT FROM CORBIN SADDLES

FOR THE R 18 BMW

Touring Fairing for
2021 BMW R18

Old School visual appeal blended with the R18 styling and combined with Corbin's attention to aerodynamic design. This stunning fairing looks great while giving excellent wind protection so you can go out and rack up mileage on your R18. Subtle sculpting makes it beautiful to look at. Another example of form and function expertly combined in Corbin fashion.

We started with a shape familiar to the fairing designs you've seen on cruiser models before, but upgraded for better aerodynamics. Notice how the fairing's shape starts at the headlight and flows back to part the wind more gracefully. This transfers the highest pressure area in line or behind the steering pin, which gives much greater stability at speed (a kind of rudder

Desert Sled Fasthouse: a limited and numbered edition of Ducati Scrambler to celebrate victory in the Mint 400

Desert Sled Fasthouse: a limited and numbered edition of Ducati Scrambler to celebrate victory in the Mint 400

  • A limited edition of 800 units created to celebrate the success achieved in the 2020 edition of the prestigious American off-road race
  • Built on a Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled base, the model features a special livery that replicates that of the bikes used in the race
  • A capsule collection of Ducati Scrambler Fasthouse apparel created in collaboration by the two brands will also be available in Ducati dealerships

Borgo Panigale (Bologna, Italy), 10 March 2021 - Scrambler Ducati presents the limited and numbered edition Desert Sled Fasthouse model: a motorcycle created to celebrate the collaboration between Ducati Scrambler and the American clothing brand Fasthouse, which in 2020 took the rider Jordan Graham to victory in the Hooligan class of the Mint 400, the oldest and most prestigious off-road race in America.

The new Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled Fasthouse was presented by Jason Chinnock (CEO Ducati North America) and Kenny Alexander (founder and president of Fasthouse) in a video shot inside the Fasthouse headquarters in California (link to the video here). The model will be available in dealerships from the end of March in a limited and numbered series of 800 units.

Made starting from the base of the Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled, the Fasthouse model is distinguished by its special livery, which replicates the graphics used by the bikes that took part in the Mint 400. The main colours are black and grey, which combine in a geometric design on the tank, on which the Fasthouse logo is inserted alongside the Ducati Scrambler one. The frame is in Ducati Red and is embellished with an aluminium plate bearing the number of the bike within the limited series, making each one of the 800 units to be produced unique, while the front and rear mudguards are black.

The Ducati Scrambler Fasthouse is powered by the 803 cc engine and is equipped with all the characteristic elements of the Ducati “Land of Joy” Desert Sled models . The swingarm, the triple clamps and the bespoke suspension make this model perfect for those who want to experience great adventures on off-road trails, just like those of the Nevada desert that each year are the scene for the Mint 400. The inclination to the off-road universe is underlined by the chassis, specifically designed to cope with the

Netherlands - 2020 saw highest motorcycle sales since 2009

 Netherlands - 2020

saw highest motorcycle sales since 2009

According to the latest data from RAI Association, BOVAG and RDC in the Netherlands, 2020 saw the highest number of new motorcycles sold in the Netherlands in more than a decade with 14,622 new units registered, an increase of +4.7% compared to 2019 (13,962 units).
In addition, the "specialist trade sold an absolute record number of 52,175 second-hand motorcycles. The corona crisis is having a major influence on travel behaviour," says RAI spokesperson Floris Liebrand.

"Since the crisis started last March, the need for individual transport has grown. This is not only noticeable in the sale of bicycles and scooters, but also in the registrations of new and second-hand motorcycles - this despite the international lockdowns in the spring, which halted the supply of parts and the production and distribution of two-wheelers worldwide.
"As a result, new engines already on order could not be built and stores were not stocked. From the summer months on, there was a clear catching up that continued until the end of the year."
"RAI Vereniging and BOVAG are happy with the popularity of the motorcycle. Motorcycling is 'in'. People not only opt for the great experience of motorcycling, but also for the practical side. The moto is ideally suited to move from A to B quickly, safely, cleanly and hygienically in today's society.
"The potential is enormous, as only half of the 1.5 million Dutch motorcycle licence owners currently own a motorcycle. Moreover, the moto fits into an urban mobility policy, with parking space at a premium. The sector is also accelerating its efforts to improve sustainability with the development of cleaner engines."
