BREAKING NEWS: there will be no AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building in 2020.

There will be no AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building in 2020.

AMDComp

"To all AMD Competitors and affiliate organisers,

It is with huge regret that we have to confirm that there will be no AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building in 2020.

Kolnmesse, the Cologne exhibition centre, has just announced that INTERMOT 2020 is cancelled, and the next INTERMOT will take place in October 2022. Therefore, we will not be able to stage this year's much-anticipated World Championship at the venue and time planned.
On behalf of you and our colleagues in the custom motorcycle industry, this now leaves us with a difficult series of decisions to make.

If INTERMOT still wishes to host 'the AMD' in 2022 then great, that is certainly something that we would look at, but in the meantime, and with nearly 100 bikes already slated to compete in October this year, we will use the next few months to explore all possible alternate options and opportunities to stage an AMD World Championship in 2021.
Whether or not that would be in the spring, summer, or the autumn - or whether or not it would prove to be practical at all - remains to be seen.

But we thought it important to get this news out to you straight away.
Please feel free to let us know your thoughts and ideas on how the future of the World Championship could be shaped, and when your bike is finished, please let us have pictures and details as we would wish to feature as many as possible of the builds in upcoming editions of AMD Magazine.

As more news becomes available, it is our plan to be in regular contact with you in the coming months. In the meantime, stay safe!"

Best wishes,
