And the Winner is.....

And the Winner is.....

We congratulate the winner of the National Motorcycle Museum's 2014 fundraiser motorcycle, a 2014 Indian Chief Vintage. Our officials pulled a ticket from Thomas Lock of Bern, Kansas.  We called and gave Thomas the good news on the afternoon of December 31,
2014, New Years Eve.

Tom was pretty excited. "I've never won anything big in my life! Wow! This is great!"

Tom has been a J&P Cycles customer since the mid-1990's, and says J&P Cycles is about the only place he can get correct, good fitting parts for his Harleys. He's a machinist by trade and builds extruding machines, so he knows what makes a good motorcycle. The Indian will be an addition to Tom's stable which already includes three motorcycles; a 1953 Harley-Davidson FL "Panhead," a 1988 Harley Soft Tail and an 1100 Sportster. The new Indian will be in good company.

This was not the first year Tom donated to win a Museum fundraiser bike. And he donated to win twice this year;  six tickets in the summer, then six more in the final mailing in November. He visited his nearest Indian dealer back in November and was impressed by the new Chief, hoped he could win it.

Tom came by January 30 to pick up his 2014 Chief and took it to McGrath Powersports in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for setup and to complete paperwork. Though he has been a Museum supporter for several years, he had not yet made the trip to see the actual Museum until he came to pick up his new Indian.

Are You Ready for the Next Big Thing?

"For 2015, we are offering the opportunity to win another great Indian, a 2015 Indian Chieftain," says National Motorcycle Museum president, John Parham."It's got hard bags, a sharp looking fairing, even nice cast wheels and two-tone paint. We wish you the best. Hope you support the Museum by entering to win it."

You can go to the Museum website now, download and print an entry form and mail it to the Museum with your donation; $5 for one ticket, or $25 for six. In February we'll be making the first mailing of personalized entry tickets to supporters who have donated to win in past years. Check the website where you can enter to win, www.nationalmcmuseum.org, or call the Museum at 319 462 3925 for more information.

Kawasaki maakt prijs nieuwe Vulcan S bekend

Your way!

Corbin Fleetliner Fairing for Triumph Thunderbird LT/Commander

Corbin Introduces Fleetliner Fairing
 for Triumph Thunderbird LT/Commander
Hollister, CA - Corbin has had a lot of rider requests for a Thunderbird fairing with long range in mind...The result is the new Fleetliner fairing. Designed to fit the Commander and LT models, it provides excellent wind protection with a traditional look. Comes prepainted and color matched to your Triumph paint so it's ready for immediate installation.

Subtle details like the center rib and sculpted line of the wings add to the visual appeal. Crafted to work with the air flow to provide more stability to the front end while relieving rider fatigue. Another example of form and function expertly combined in Corbin fashion.

Corbin started with a fairing shape similar to designs you've seen on cruiser models, but improved the design to provide better aerodynamics. Notice how the shape of the fairing starts at the headlights and flows back to part the wind more gracefully. This transfers the highest

Persbericht Veterans MC Netherlands 21 januari 2015

Persbericht Veterans MC Netherlands 21 januari 2015

(Mitchell, SD) January 19, 2015 –  Klock Werks has designed a simple yet effective part to move the stock oil cooler and cover closer to the frame adding the needed clearance for the 23” wheel and raked tree big wheel bagger projects. “The Tuck-It Oil Cooler Relocation Bracket is one of those parts that we were repeatedly making in our own shop to provide clearance for our 23” stamped steel fenders,” stated Brian Klock, President of Klock Werks. “If we need it, so will someone else, so we made it an available product. I love parts like this – they make projects go much smoother and are born from necessity.”

Harley-Davidson ‘Battle of the Kings’-competitie

Harley-Davidson dealers strijden
 in ‘Battle of the Kings’-competitie

New classic parts at W&W Cycles

W&W expands product line

W&W Cycles continues to introduce parts for Harley-Davidsons that are based on classic pieces, and among the latest of these new options is a telescopic fork designed after the Ceriani front end that was standard equipment on XR and XRTT 750 factory and production race bikes.

The new T35 Dirt Track front end from W&W features cast aluminum triple trees with
integrated 1in handlebar clamps and lower legs machined from billet aluminum. Total claimed weight is about 5kg less than a stock 35mm Narrow Glide fork. The width is 170mm (fork tube center to fork tube center) so it requires narrow aluminum hubs and corresponding brakes, and the handlebar mounting clamps are spaced 75mm (center to center). Like the original Ceriani pattern it features a friction disc steering damper with a large adjuster wheel.
The fork is intended for lighter weight bikes with a dry weight near 200kg. Caliper brackets and anchors need to be fabricated.

A second front end option now offered by W&W are the adjustable fork cartridges from Andreani. The cartridges replace the factory internals, feature a 20mm piston and provide a complete range of adjustment possibilities. Compression damping, rebound and spring pre-load can be tuned to the rider’s specific requirements. Each kit consists of two hydraulic cartridges complete with compression/rebound pistons, necessary shims, fork springs and top adjusting screws. Two versions are available for ’06-’13 Dyna models or ’02 onward Sportsters.
Fork modifications required for the installation of the Andreani cartridges are non-reversible.

Insane Evel Knievel Jump Attempt at the Buffalo Chip!

Sept. 1, 1972 – Evel Knievel® attempts 22-car world-record jump on 1972 Harley-Davidson XR-750…FAILS!

July 4, 2001 – 22-car jump attempted again…motorcycle daredevil ALMOST DIES!

Aug. 6, 2015 – Evel’s® 22-car jump attempted once more...IS THIS A SUICIDE ATTEMPT?!

Time will stand still on Thursday, Aug, 6, 2015, as you wait to witness an impossible triumph or an unspeakable tragedy. Your heart will race, and you’ll clench your teeth, but nothing will be able to pull your gaze from an attempt at the insane motorcycle stunt the great Evel Knievel was never able to pull off—a 22-car jump on Evel’s own vintage 1972 Harley-Davidson XR-750.

Odds were stacked against Knievel® when he attempted this world-record jump in 1972. His crew warned the bike would be unable to reach the speed it needed to clear the distance, and they were right. Knievel failed with a bounce landing on the safety ramp the crew built over the lineup’s final three cars.

When another motorcycle daredevil attempted this jump in 2001, the world watched in horror as he missed the landing and was violently thrust end over end until his head nearly came off. He spent 3 months in a coma, and the jump nearly cost him his life.

This August, you can see what happens when motorcycle daredevil Doug Danger tempts fate by attempting this exact jump in the Buffalo Chip amphitheater, using the very same bike that failed Knievel and ultimately lead to his defeat. There’s no telling what will happen during the Buffalo Chip’s Evel Knievel Thrill Show, but one thing is for sure…the outcome will forever change motorcycle stunt history!

“This is the one jump Evel couldn’t make; he failed. I’m determined to succeed where he fell short. I know it’s dangerous, but death has had me by the throat twice in my life, and I spit in its face. When God's ready, he'll take me.” – Doug Danger

Is this jump a suicide attempt? There’s only one way you can find out, and that’s to make sure you’ve got a Buffalo Chip campground admission pass! The Evel Knievel Thrill Show Jump is included for free with your Thursday, Rally, Extended Rally and Early Bird Campground Admission Passes. Prices are the lowest they will ever be now, so don’t wait and be the only person to miss this spectacular jump in the Buffalo Chip Amphitheater.

In addition to this potentially deadly world-record jump attempt, for only 10 bucks more you can get the full Evel Knievel experience and come face to face with the world’s largest collection of Knievel curiosities July 31 – Aug. 8 at the Buffalo Chip CrossRoads. Get an up-close look at X-rays of Knievel's broken bones, his X-2 skycycle rocket, the Mack truck show rig he named “Big Red,” his iconic “Sports Illustrated” leathers and cape, and much more. We didn’t exhume Evel Knievel himself, but you’ll be able to experience everything else!

Don’t be the one to miss out on the full Evel Knievel experience at the Buffalo Chip!
