Destiny Cycles wins BEST OF SHOW Bigtwin Bikeshow & Expo 2015!

Destiny Cycles wins BEST OF SHOW at the Bigtwin Bikeshow & Expo 2015 in The Netherlands!

Vic Jefford and his lovely wife Lin received the biggest trophy at the Bigtwin Bikeshow & Expo 2015 in Rosmalen, The Netherlands. Lin rode the bike proudly on stage.

Destiny built this bike, with Speedway influences, on the basis of an old Triumph engine. Vic and Lin tell us more: "15 Years ago, when we just started our business, Destiny Cycles, we wanted to build a bike for a show, but with not to much money to spend, we ended up with an old Triumph that we chopped and with a pair of ugly wheels, we were amazed that it won show after show! We sold the bike after a couple of years. Many years later, the owner had to emigrate and wanted to sell the bike back to us. Honestly, we were not really interested in it, but made him an offer that he accepted and we put it in the shed and forgot about it. That is, until recently, when we decided to build a custom bike to celebrate our 15th Destiny Cycles Anniversary. We started Destiny Cycles in 2000 and suddenly we remembered that old Triumph sitting there. What better than using our first custom bike as the base for our 15 years Destiny Cycles Anniversary bike? After all, that was the bike, the first one, that put us on the map!"

Vic started building ths bike by building a total one-off nickel ‘oil in frame’, with cantilever rear suspension. He hand made the forks with copper plating on the front leg. The Triumph engine was rebuild, using parts of various types; like T110 engine cases, machined to take the
T140 cranck and barrels with TR1 heads

All the engraving was done by 84 years old Don Blocksidge! The Fifties style paintwork was done by Sammy and John at Re-Born.  An amazing bike, with so many beautiful details. Best of Show indeed, congratulations to Vic & Lin!
