New Corbin Dual Sport Saddle for Ducati Diavel.

Corbin’s new Dual Sport Saddle designed for Ducati Diavel.

Corbin announced today the addition of their new Dual Sport Saddle designed specifically for the new Ducati Diavel. Designed to fit perfectly to the bike for a custom look and vastly improve the ergonomics of the Diavel, Corbin neutralized the seating posture and did away with the hammock shape to give you excellent support without the pinching feel of the stock seat.

Corbin designed the seating position on the Diavel seat to move the rider back approximately 1.5 inches from the stock seating position. This gives you a bit more seating room and still integrates perfectly with the seat cowling. Seat height is between the stock Ducati seat and their "Tall" seat version which gives us the ability to neutralize the seating platform. In the nose area, we sculpt the saddle to allow for good ground reach.

Naturally, we set out to design a seat to fit the bike visually as well as improving the quality of your ride. Our high density Comfort Cell foam allows a sleek, low profile while providing a firm supportive ride that lasts. Rider seating is ergonomically shaped to fit the curve of your body and provide better weight distribution and eliminate the "hammock" shape of the stock seat that pinches in all the wrong places. This also helps to eliminate the centralized pressure felt from the stock seat.

Passenger seating area is designed with a neutralized platform to curb sliding forward in the saddle. This gives your passenger good mid-range comfort. Sorry, but the removable passenger backrest isn't available in this seat model... there's just nowhere to put the hardware for it safely. On the other hand, we did integrate hardware to use your Ducati seat cowling. Just bolt it onto the Corbin seat as you would with the stock seat for a fast, solo look.

Notice how close the Corbin saddle fits to the tank and chassis... this kind of fit comes only from a Corbin saddle and our unique Fibertech basepan. Our rigid base material not only fits perfect to the bike, but provides a firm foundation to support the carefully designed foam shape. Corbin's ergonomic shaping creates a visually pleasing look on the motorcycle and adds to the custom appeal.

We use genuine leather seating in all of our saddle models because it breathes with your body and will conform along with the foam shape during break in. This provides an added bit of luxury on those long rides. In the side panels, we use a coordinating vinyl material that will support the foam shape and keep the saddle looking sharp longer. Be sure to care for you leather saddle properly with a quality conditioner like our Saddle Cream. This will help the leather to remain supple and weather resistant while it matures gracefully. Mounts to the motorcycle like the stock seat…Functions on key lock system with brackets preinstalled on saddle.

Corbin, the world’s finest motorcycle saddle…Hand crafted in the USA and setting the standard for over four decades! From the original Corbin removable backrest to their unique saddle designs, stylish saddle bags and touring quality fairings; they are unequalled in quality, design and function. Vance & Hines Big Shots Long for Softails

Vance & Hines Big Shots Long

Vance & Hines' 2012 range of exhaust systems includes the Big Shots Long, a 2-into-2 system created for use on Softails. The company describes the pipes as having 'a nostalgic look especially suited for the Heritage Softail Classic, where the length of the exhaust system runs beneath the saddlebag to the edge of the rear wheel'.

Features on the pipes include the Vance & Hines 'Power Chamber' hidden crossover, one-piece full length heat shields and straight-cut CNC machined end caps.

The pipes are supplied as standard with louvered-core baffles, and can also be fitted with optional quiet baffles. Finished in chrome, the pipes also use Vance & Hines' new flat plane mounting panel for 12mm oxygen sensors, which are said to position the sensor deeper into the exhaust stream, providing enhanced data feedback to the ECM.

Brute III Extreme 2007 Touring 1 3/4" Enclosed Belt Drive

New Product Release

Brute III Extreme 2007 Touring 1 3/4" Enclosed Belt Drive

Fits 2007 & later Touring models. (2015-0066)

Are you tired of leaky gaskets and oily messes?
Rivera Primo's new Brute III Extreme 2007 Touring Enclosed Belt Drive for 2007 & later Touring models will solve all those nasty little problems and so much more. This baby will replace your antiquated chain drive thereby shedding your drive train of approx 25 lbs of unwanted rotating mass. This will make your engine work more efficiently, utilizing more of your horsepower to spin the rear wheel and much less to just turn the freakin' primary drive. To top that little miracle of physics, it also relieves you of all those nasty little maintenance jobs that you probably either haven't done, have done but hate them or pay the dealer a whole lotta moolah to do for you. Jobs such as primary oil change, gasket replacement, chain adjustments, etc. ALMOST MAINTENANCE FREE!!

 Da belt!
Years of engineering and on-bike testing have enabled us to produce a state-of-the-art high strength 8mm primary drive belt. Layers upon extra layers of Aramid fibers makes the Brute III Extreme 2007 Touring one of the most durable enclosed belts & drive available today. Make no mistake about it!

Thats great. But can it hold the power?
The Brute III Extreme 2007 Touring comes standard with our Pro Clutch™. Now we don't wanna brag (too much), but our Pro CLutch™ is hands down, the best clutch for American V Twins available. It holds the power with ease, but does not break your arm doing it. It is a diaphragm clutch which means it uses one cupped piece of spring steel to put equal all around pressure on the pressure plate. Antiquated clutches of by-gone eras used multiple coil springs and many other parts to put the pressure against the pressure plate. Problem was that the coil springs did not all have the same rate of collapse, so the pressure plate did not have an even distribution of pressure, plus the more you collapse a coil spring to put more pressure on the pressure plate, the harder it is to pull in the clutch lever. Diaphragm springs have a mechanical advantage over coil springs and are much easier to pull in. Lets face it gang, the diaphragm spring Pro Clutch™ is the absolute best!

H-D sees sales grow 20% as it increases its units shipped forecast 2012

Harley sees sales grow 20% as it increases its units shipped forecast 2012
Harley-Davidson has reported strong gains in earnings and dealer new motorcycle sales for the first quarter of 2012.

The company is reporting that retail sales of new Harley-Davidson motorcycles grew 20.3 percent worldwide in the first quarter this year (compared to 2011), with domestic US growth of 25.5.
On a worldwide basis, dealers sold 59,677 new Harley-Davidson motorcycles in the first quarter of 2012, compared to 49,595 motorcycles in Q.1 2011; 39,762 of them in the US. International dealers sold 19,915 new Harley-Davidson motorcycles during the first quarter, an increase of 11.2 percent.

Industry-wide domestic U.S. heavyweight new motorcycle (651cc-plus) retail unit sales increased 17.5 percent compared to last year's first quarter, so in brand terms Harley continues to grow ahead of market trend.
"We continue to be encouraged by the strong trend at retail and in earnings over the past several quarters. Our first quarter performance reflects the outstanding appeal of our products, the ongoing results of our transformation strategy, the efforts of our dealers and employees, and improving macro-economic conditions in the U.S.," said Keith Wandell, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Harley-Davidson, Inc.

"While we are obviously pleased by our strong start to the year, we are more focused than ever on the ongoing implementation of our business strategy and tapping the many opportunities we see globally. Through Harley-Davidson's transformation to world-class manufacturing, product development and retail capabilities, we are positioning the Company to serve our customers even better and help ensure the strength of the business long term," Wandell said.
In 2011, for the fourth straight year, Harley-Davidson was the U.S. market share leader among young adults ages 18-34, women, African American and Hispanic riders, as well as among its core rider group, across all displacements of on-road motorcycles, according to recently available data. More than one-third of new Harley-Davidson motorcycle sales in the U.S. in 2011 were to riders new to the brand, and in the EMEA region, more than two-thirds were new to the brand.

"We believe that Harley-Davidson's market leadership among its demographic outreach targets demonstrates the powerful and growing appeal of the brand to new generations and diverse groups of riders," Wandell said. "We also continued to expand the reach of Harley-Davidson to customers around the world. Our employees and dealers are more dedicated than ever to making customers' dreams a reality through remarkable products and extraordinary experiences."
At $995.9m, first quarter revenue from Motorcycles was up 19.5 percent. The Company shipped 64,263 motorcycles to dealers and distributors worldwide during the quarter, compared to 53,827 in the first quarter of 2011. This was higher than the Company's prior shipment guidance of 58,000 to 63,000 motorcycles for the quarter.

Harley-Davidson is increasing its full-year shipment guidance and expects to ship 245,000 to 250,000 motorcycles to dealers and distributors worldwide in 2012, compared to prior shipment guidance of 240,000 to 245,000 motorcycles. The new shipment guidance reflects consumer demand and the Company's limited ability to produce additional motorcycles in 2012. In the second quarter of 2012, the Company expects to ship 79,000 to 84,000 motorcycles.
Revenue from Motorcycle Parts and Accessories (P&A) was up 21.1 percent at $199.1 million for the first quarter; General Merchandise (which includes MotorClothes Apparel and Accessories) revenue was $74.6 million, up 19.2.

Proprietary Treatment Produces a Highly Reflective Surface with Incredible Depth

The new Nine-Spoke Cast Wheel in Black Ice (P/N 43300114 17-inch front, P/N 40900111 16-inch rear; $549.95 each) is the latest custom wheel set from Harley-Davidson® Genuine Motor Accessories®. The rib on the Original Equipment wheel spoke has been removed to provide a smooth uninterrupted look and countless hours of polishing result in a superior finish. The Black Ice finish is also now offered on the Airstrike custom wheel for many Harley-Davidson Touring models, and on the Reaper custom wheel for many Harley-Davidson Dyna models.

All Genuine Motor Accessory wheels have been certified by Harley-Davidson to perform to tough vehicle standards for quality and durability. Wheels require separate purchase of a model-specific Wheel Installation Kit, Sprocket Hardware and Brake Rotor-specific Hardware. Paughco Brass intake housing for S&S Super E/G

Paughco Brass intake housing for S&S Super E/G

The old Linkert style intake housing are possibly one of the hottest intakes available. Not just because of their looks but because of their heritage and slim, smooth lines. Originally used on Linkert carburetors, in the days that aircleaners were not yet invented. Even today these Paughco intakes remain true to the original design, meaning there is no filter element and none is available.Installing a filtering system would make it seriously uncapable of delivering the amounts of air required. After the ribbed and smooth chrome plated version Paughco now introduced the solid brass intake housing that will fit S&S Super E & G carburetors on engines with a bottom vent (902933) or 92-07 head vent (902934) system. This is so cool you could start to think about wanting to have one, no matter the missing filter element! Call your Motorcycle Storehouse dealer for more information.

Motorcycle Storehouse interactive on-line catalog

Motorcycle Storehouse interactive on-line catalog

On-line catalogs are a nice thing, if the were only searchable, like a PDF document, and clickable with website like navigation. Low and behold! Your on-line catalog dreams have come true!

Motorcycle Storehouse announces the first interactive on-line catalog in the whole aftermarket Harley-Davidson industry. It is, just like their printed version, almost 1600 pages thick and contains 44.000 parts. It is searchable, just like a PDF document, which is a great tool, but there is more. Go to the main chapter index, and click... your at the beginning of the chapter of choice. Click on anything in the extremely large word index and you will go to the product of choice, on the correct page. Even better, click on any of the part numbers mentioned in the catalog, whoosh... a new page will open and you'll find you connected to the Motorcycle Storehouse database. It will show you a brief product description, up to 3 product pictures and, something the catalog cannot, give you up to date price and availability. How about that!?
If you have something that is of special interest to you, you may bookmark those pages. No matter what you use, computer, smartphone or tablet, they will all work. Looks to me that Storehouse is ready for the future.

Norton returns to the Isle of Man TT!

Norton returns to the Isle of Man TT!

Today we launch our new race bike and announce our entry into the Senior TT race 2012.

Over the last 12-18 months Norton have been looking at a return to racing. Given that WSB and BSB only allow Homologated Road bikes into their racing classes, Norton has to look for ‘open’ or ‘prototype’ race classes to enter the new race bike in.

For all of the above, the TT stood out as the very obvious choice for Norton. The hard edge style of racing which gets much closer to fans and supporters in a true and real world way which is a very genuine and passionate form of racing, appeals to Norton far more than the energy drink and lycra clad pit lane of homologated road bike racing.
Ian Mackman is riding the new bike for us, he is a great guy and hugely passionate about his racing. We are pleased to have him in the team working with us to develop the bike. He’s in later for a bit of testing, Donington have kindly helped us with some track time.

The bike itself is a Spondon chassis with Ohlins front and back, BST carbon wheels are shod with Dunlop’s. The engine is an RSV V4, we have been talking to the Aprilia Factory in Italy and similar to CRT we have no absolute factory support off them, but they are there for information and help if and when required.
The bike itself has been built solely within the factory at Donington Park, we have made very many of the parts ourselves within our CNC machine facility here at the Norton factory. For example we have made our own wheel spindles through to throttle bodies! We have a great partner with the fuelling system and electronic package for the bike in Active Technologies Limited.
We’ve gone with our traditional polished aluminum tank, all the styling and bodywork has been put together here at the factory also. Replicast are working with us to complete the aero package.

Norton see this as a three year project, we are genuinely happy to come home with a solid finish this year. Any position would be a bonus! Over the three years we would like to be in a position to be podium competitive, although we totally understand it is a huge mountain to climb and we have our work cut out to achieve this.
Only now are we going racing on the budget we have available from sponsors and other commercial racing income, we have taken no money from the factory road bike business. We see this as a sustainable route to racing for Norton. Some suppliers to the road bike business have been really helpful and this has helped reduce costs to develop and make the bike.

We have lost no focus in our road bike business and we remain totally committed to growing volume in our road bike business to meet demand for the Commando 961.

The TT organizers have been really helpful and a refreshing change in the racing game. The Norton team are looking forward to getting there and providing some excitement and fun for the TT crowd, we’ve even lined up a TV presenter to serve brews for the fans front of garage!

Ride-On, tire sealant

Ride-On, tire sealant

Few things are worse than stranding with a flat, usually in the middle of nowhere. Ride-On is a manufacturer of a fluid which is added when installing a new tire, or one that is already on the bike, through the valve stem. After adding Ride-On the fluid will coat the tire on the inside, this will take approx. 4 miles (6km). After that Ride-On will automatically seal 85-95% of all leaks upto 6.4mm diameter in tubeless tires and 55-65% of all leaks upto 3.2mm in tube type tires. Since it will evenly disperse it acts as a wheel balancer, therefore wheel weights are no longer required. Rims are easy to clean when changing tires, just rinse off and wipe clean with a damp rag. The product is biodegradable, non-flammable, corrosion protective and compatible with TPMS (Tire Pressure Measuring Systems). Note that Ride-On is not compatible with TPMS systems that are not hermetically sealed, like 09-12 Goldwings. For all others, this could well be the best ride insurance you ever had! Available in a 8oz (237cc) bottle, as MCS 906001 and for dealers in a 5 gallon (18.92 liter) barrel as MCS 906002. A special manual pump for the 5 gallon barrel is available as MCS 906003.

For the first time you can give your Motorcycle Storehouse dealer a call, not to repair but to prevent a flat. Howabout that!

- Tire repair on the fly!
- Ride insurance in a bottle!
- TPMS safe!
