Andere merken: Rizoma, Bertoni etc etc

Nansulate® Cool Ride Technology
Put the Frost on Your Exhaust!
Our newly patented Cool Ride Technology is a one-of-a-kind protective coating that can be easily applied to motorized vehicles of any kind to reduce the surface temperature of exhaust pipes and lower the risk associated with skin contact. Whether you're protecting yourself, your passengers, or safe guarding your child's new motorized vehicle, you can be sure that Nansulate® Cool Ride will drastically improve the safety of your bike, and reduce the likelihood of a serious burn. Use it on the back end exhaust pipe, or on the forward feeding lines to make sure to avoid an unwanted accident that could result in a bad burn, trip to the emergency room, or even worse, long lasting scars and plastic surgery. Through our Cool Ride brand, we are committed to providing a quality product that will make a difference in the lives of people everywhere. Engineered at the Nano-Scale, our patented formula is a safe, easy-to-apply insulation that can be used to prevent the next serious exhaust burn accident.
A new safety coating product that aims to reduce surface temperatures of hot exhausts on motorcycles, motorbikes, ATVs, and sport bikes made its debut at EICMA last month. Naples, Fla.-based Industrial Nanotech, Inc., was showing its Nansulate Cool Ride line of high-tech insulation, energy-saving, and protective coatings.
The new product is described as an easy-to-apply clear liquid insulation that reduces heat conduction, provides a thermal insulation barrier, and lowers the surface temperature of hot exhaust pipes on motorcycles and other riding equipment. Details are at www.coolridetech.com. The company points to studies published by the U.S. National Library of Medicine - National Institutes of Health showing that motorcycle exhaust burn injuries are a global issue.
"The statistics for motorcycle exhaust burn injuries among both adults and children show the severity of this avoidable issue," says Francesca Crolley, VP business development for Industrial Nanotech, Inc. "Our technology has been used extensively in industrial and commercial sectors to reduce the temperature of hot pipes and heat process equipment for employee safety, and to reduce hot handrail surface temperatures that heat up in direct sunlight, so it made perfect sense to extend our solutions to the motorcycle, motorbike, and ATV markets for burn prevention. The holiday season is when many of these vehicles are purchased for children as well as adults, so the timing was right to include a companion safety coating as a vital accessory to these bikes as a burn preventative."
Facts & Information
Burn Rubber not Your Body!
The majority (70%) of exhaust burn victims are on average younger than 25.
Burns from motorized vehicles are two times higher for children than for adults.
Most (52%) of burns occur in late spring/early summer during peak riding seasons.
Just as many passengers are burned as riders.
The majority (69%) of passenger burns are female.
Many burns happen while motorized vehicle is not in motion.
Mostly burns effect the hands or the right leg below the knee.
Most burns are at least 2nd degree.
Some burns are 3rd degree and require surgery.
Some of these burns will require plastic surgery.
Severe burns scar and will never fully disappear.
Burns often cause infections which can require hospitalization.
It can take several weeks to months for a severe burn to heal.
Severe burns will on average cost 3.5 hospital visits.
A Google search on "Motorcycle Burns" returns 12,800,000 results.
Nansulate® Cool Ride can drastically reduce the risk of burn.
There is no other product on the market like Nansulate® Cool Ride. **
How it Works
How it Works: The Science Behind Safe
Nansulate® Cool Ride is engineered at the nano-scale to specifically insulate metals (and other materials including plastic) extremely well. The coating reduces heat conduction, acting as a barrier against heat, and is also extremely hydrophobic (water resistant) to provide extra benefits such as rust protect in addition to heat insulation. There is no other product on the market that can do what Cool Ride Technology will.
Our water-based nano formula easily applies onto exhaust pipes using a typical paint sprayer, roller, brush, or applicator. The bike must be turned off and the exhaust pipes cooled to room temperature before application process begins. Once bike is off and cooled, lightly apply the Cool Ride solution over the area of pipe selected for cooling, thoroughly covering the area. Once covered with a coat, let it cure in a dry environment without turning the motor on at any point until finished. Repeating this process multiple times will give you the most benefit of an extremely cool exhaust. Review the application instructions for full details on recommended coverage (number of coats) and application method.
How Much Will It Reduce the Temperature?
You can use a certain number of coats to reach a desired temperature drop. The application can be tailored to your equipment needs. For example, a 350F surface can be reduced to a 140F (OSHA safe touch level) - a 60% reduction; And a 250F surface can be reduced to the same 140F temperature with the recommended application - a 44% reduction. Review our Temperature Gradient Chart to see how many coats to use.
How Long Will Nansulate® Cool Ride Last?
Product lasts between 5-10 years, depending upon wear and environment.
Cool Ride Technology Rules
Nansulate® Cool Ride will work on any surfaces that reach a maximum of 400℉ (204℃). The temperature extremes to which the material can be applied are 40℉ to 210℉ (4℃ to 99℃). It is recommended that each coat be allowed to dry for 1-2 hours before applying an additional coat; the surface should be dry to touch and non-tacky. If a surface is brought above 212F (100C) too soon after application and before the product is allowed to cure, blistering may occur. Always use this product in accordance with the specifications for most effective results. **
It Will Work on Virtually Anything
You'll be able to use this product on virtually any motorized vehicle you have with exhaust pipes. We've developed Cool Ride with Motocross, ATV, Sport, Mobile Transport Motorcycles, Scooters, and Kids Mini and Pee Wee bikes in mind.

Swiss Law. Take it serious. Very Serious indeed!
Switzerland used to be a country where you could speed on your motorcycle as long as you were willing to pay the high speeding fines. It used to be a money game; rich people (and they have a lot of them there), could ride as fast as they wanted, since if one of the many radars caught them, they just pay the fine. For mere mortals, the fine would be prohibitive, but for the rich, it's just cigar money. Fines are determined by the monthly income you have, so the amount of money you pay is related to your income. So speeding could be very expensive, but no serious harm done. But not anymore. A new law passed recently, calling for strict measures against speeders and dangerous driving. Now the Swiss will be sent to jail, from 1 to 4 years.
Yes, I saw this 'postcard picture' in my rear view mirror many times.
Believe me, you don't want to...
Swiss Radar. Looks like fun, but the Swiss don't like fun. At all.
Some of the new rules and speed limit thresholds are: 70 kph in a 30 kph zone, 100 kph in a 50 zone and 140 kph in an 80 zone. Do one of those, and you'll end up in a cell with a cell-mate named Bubba (or whatever the Swiss equivalent). To make sure the Swiss obey the law, they have outlawed vehicles from warning each other of there's a speed check up ahead. They will not throw you in prison, but you can expect a hefty fine.
You have to ask yourself; do they serve cheese and chocolates in Swiss cells..?
And another one you should be aware of: Your Motorway Tax Sticker
If you have ever ridden your motorcycle (or car) in Switzerland, you'll know what I'm talking about. When you take the motorway in the country of cheese, chocolate and bankers, you'll need to pay an annual tax, even if you're only on the motorway system for 10 minutes. You can get the tax sticker at the border, motorway offices, post offices or garages. The CHF40 (€32) sticker needs to be displayed on your car windshield, though motorcycle are allowed to put elsewhere on their bike. But riding on the motorway without the sticker is going to get tricky, or expensive. Starting today, the fine for being caught without the tax sticker is doubling, from CHF100 (€ 80) to CHF200 (€160). And since the cops who patrol the roads are always on the lookout for citizens to fine, chances are you'll be caught. So better pay the annual tax, which is not proportional, so if you need to take to the excellent road system on 30 December, you'll pay the same as someone who went on the 1st of January.
Switzerland is beautiful. But the old saying 'Wenn es kein Gesetz ist - ist es Verboten'
(If it's not a law - it's vorbidden) is absolutely true. Think about it. Be careful, you're warned.

Terry the Tramp: The Life and Dangerous Times of a One Percenter
This book review looks at a sordid time in history when being a biker wasn't fashionable or even safe. K. Randall Ball, Terry the Tramp: The Life and Dangerous Times of a One Percenter, MBI Publishing, Minnesota, 2011, takes the reader through the seedy streets of small California towns and the asphalt highways linking riders with their destiny.
a young Keith Randall Ball, circa 1970's
Although this book chronicles Terry Orendorff's journey from being raised in a broken family to his rise as national leader of a notorious one percent motorcycle club, it could be the story of any number of rebellious young men born in the mid 1940's who had a passion for freedom and living outside the norms of society. It's no surprise that these men chose motorcycles as a means to transport them to their dreams since motorcycles were also outside the accepted boundaries of civilized society at that time. Not all bikes and bikers, only the so-called one percent of riders who chose not to conform to the rules laid down by people they had no respect for.
What's really fascinating about this book is the way author Ball weaves the historical fabric of current events, music and the biker sub-culture together to provide the reader with a view of what it was really like in those days. Having been a product of those same times, and a biker, you can easily relate to what was happening in southern California between bike clubs and law enforcement. It was happening all over the country. Maybe not as intense everywhere as it was in, for instance, Hawthorne, but being a biker was a daily challenge.
If you rode during this time period, you will instantly enjoy this book as it tells one man's story, simultaneously transporting you back to your own recollections of events you witnessed or experienced. The bikes, the women, the parties and conflicts are all here. This is reality, not some made for TV fantasy of what being a biker is all about. If you want to know what drives a man to put his club before even his family, this is a rare glimpse into that world; a snapshot of history unlike anything you see in the movies. This is a biker's story, told by a biker. It doesn't get any better than this. Even if you don't ride or were born after this time period, this book will give you insight into the world of the one percent biker you haven't seen yet. This isn't National Geographic or the Gangland series. This is real people striving to survive in a world they were thrust into. They did bad things and bad things were done to them.
You can order a copy of Terry the Tramp: The Life and Dangerous Times of a One Percenter, by visiting Keith Ball's web site
If you have any old copies of Easyriders Magazine laying around, look for #208, October, 1990. There's an article about the Vagos' court battle against the Hawthorne Police, recounted in the book. There's even an illustration by David Mann at the top of the article.

First Norton Motorcycles delivered in Italy
Last weekend, a crowd of more than 100 people gathered for the landmark unveiling of the first Norton Motorcycles to be delivered in Italy.
The first Norton Motorcycles delivered in Italy
This has only been possible because of the first ever Ex EFG funding facility for export provided to Norton from Santander and backed by the British Government. The funding has helped us enter into export sales and also gives us greater scale and volumes with suppliers. This helps parts supply across the business and increases the number of hand built bikes we are able to build for all markets. This takes Norton another step forward on its’ onward journey.
Mr Fagnoni received keys to his Commando 961 SE
In what is a very exciting time for us, the Mayor of Cremona, Dr. Tancredi Bruno di Clarafond, presented the keys to the first two proud Italian owners. Mr Fagnoni took delivery of his Commando 961 SE and Mr Vicomandi received his Commando 961 Sport.
Mr Vicomandi received keys to his Commando 961 Sport
This marks the start of a long lasting relationship between Norton Motorcycles (UK) Ltd and our Italian friends. It is fantastic to see the first of many Nortons’ on Italian roads. News from Dar Holdsworth of Darwin Motorcycles
I wanted to share this with you in hopes you could help me spread the word about supporting our troops with our raffle bike, the RLX.
I concepted an American Muscle Bike in 2008 and was going to develop it. But the economy fell out and I shelved the design (see attached).
I do a bike every year that supports the US military. I knew with such a tight economy, I'd have to do something big to get contributions from the top suppliers I was seeking to partner with. I wanted to build a no-compromise American Muscle Bike.
We partnered with race team, Rahal Lettermen Lanigan, with the idea of building a bike that would pay tribute to Bobby Rahal's storied championship racing career as well as compliment his world class race team. The bike is being raffled to support our troops through two military focused charities, SteelAnchor.org & Pros For Vets (http://www.pros4vets.org/)
The RLX, is designed and hand built by me and my team at Darwin Motorcycles.
The components listed have been generously donated by these exceptional suppliers and Darwin Motorcycles has built the bike for free.
The bike had a sneak peek at SEMA last year as a roller and officially debuted at the 2011 Indy 500 with Team Rahal.
The bike was entered in and Won the AMD World Championships of Custom Bike Building (production class).
We are raffling this bike through midnight pacific standard time, December 24th and need your help to raise as much money as possible to support our troops.

Rukka “Granite” – The trousers to wear over
Full length zippers down the legs make the new Rukka “Granite” an ideal pair of trousers to wear comfortably over jeans, workwear or suit pants.
Often sitting on their motorbikes the whole day long, nobody knows better than long distance riders: even a top quality textile suit with breathable, waterproof fabric can only realize its full climate-regulating potential when worn above functional undergarments. On short hops though, like riding to work, downtown or to the sports ground, many riders would much rather keep on their working, sports or casual clothes and avoid having to change when they arrive. Now, Rukka makes that wish come true.
Made of abrasion resistant Cordura 500, the new Granite trousers easily fit over denim or suit trousers due to their relatively wide cut. Full-length zippers all the way down the legs make it easy to put them on and off, while two side adjusters let the waist fit perfectly. For safety, they have air permeable, CE certified RVPair knee and hip protectors as well as a second layer of Cordura 500 on exposed areas. A Gore-Tex Performance Shell Z-liner ensures lasting breathability while making the trousers wind- and waterproof.
The new Granite trousers can be connected to every Rukka jacket by way of a connective zip. However, the ideal pairing is with the matching Rukka Granite Z-Liner jacket whose relatively wide fit makes it perfect for wearing over a sweater, workwear or a suit jacket.
Granite trousers are available in Black and in the sizes 46 to 62. Tall riders may want to try the C3 sizes 48 through 58 with 7 cm longer trouser legs, while the C1 sizes 48 through 62 are 7 cm shorter than standard. The Granite jacket is available in sizes 46 through 62 and in the colours Black, Grey or White.
The price is € 599,- (NL) / € 609,- (BE) including VAT. Contact Hoco Parts for more information per mail at email@example.com.
News! Waylon has an unbelievable auction item for Serious Request!
When sleeping over at 3FM’s Glazen Huis, the guest is supposed to bring an item that’ll be up for auction for the Serious Request charity. Two years ago Waylon raised a lot of money by shaving his head while staying at the Glazen Huis. That was spectacular, but this year Waylon has something on offer that surpasses that – by far. He’ll auction off an item that is so shiny and beautiful, that it will simply blow your mind.. A Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight!
